ME [aka. KAYLA PLOUFFE]
Hey, I’m Kayla! I am an adventure elopement and intimate wedding photographer currently based in Mammoth Lakes, California. I grew up surrounded by the Sequoia National Forest in the southern Sierra Nevada mountains of California, which sparked a deep love of nature from a young age. That, combined with the forever soft spot I have in my heart for the unique and nontraditional, is how I came to shoot wild and free weddings across the United States and beyond.
But I’ll be honest: The first wedding I shot was nearly the last. When I first started out shooting weddings, it was difficult for me to watch how easily couples would get lost in the traditions of the day. For a moment I fell out of love with capturing weddings, but returned to it a few years later when I realized love doesn’t always have to be portrayed in the same format. In my years of adventuring and traveling (to 17 countries and counting!), I have been able to help couples craft a wedding day that perfectly reflects them-- all while having a freaking blast! This is why my job isn’t just a job to me, it’s a passion.
